10. George Martin Recording F. Zappa

Brian Epstein, the manager of this Island of
Zombie Superstars has told George Martin to
do more recordings. It can be anything, new
songs even, if available in the afterlife.
Interviews, audiobooks, whatever the
superstar feels like recording. Today he has
scheduled Frank Zappa for some studio time
who will do voice recordings of some of his most famous quotes
during his lifetime.

GM: Good morning mr Zappa, Frank or… how do you yourself
prefer I should call you?

FZ: Just Frank, mister Martin. Just Frank.

GM: Okay, you call me just George then, sounds more friendly.

FZ: Yeah first time we met, mister Just George. I always
thought you should have invited me into your Beatles

GM: Oh, interesting. Why ‘s that?

FZ: O well, just for fun I guess. Never mind, what’s the plan, George?

GM: So, we’re gonna do a sound recording of your famous quotes
and add some music to it. Who knows we can turn it into a video
one day for online hits and likes. Lots of likes.

FZ: Not so interested in those hits and likes must say, George,
but seems we have to keep on releasing recording stuff to secure
our
digital afterlife.

GM: Ah no worries. We will just have a nice recording session
Frank, have lunch and drinks in the afternoon when finished.

FZ: Sounds great!

GM: Just set yourself at the microphone. Take a seat even.
Bring your coffee. And start your talking. I will be recording
everything, and we will pick out the nice bits later together.

FZ: Great. Can I smoke in the studio? Cigarettes?

GM: Yeah why not.

And a nice recording session it was. They finished
their job in the afternoon, added some music, did
the mix and then went celebrating their new
recording with some drinks.

(Recording Frank Zappa’s
quotes set to music starts)

GM: That’s a nice recording, Frank. The internet will it give it
your  hits and likes – plenty. You wait and see. I say cheers!
Let’s enjoy our drinks. Now tell me about your plan once,
working with my Beatles.

FZ: That would have been something, George. Can you imagine?
Zappa doing the Beatles and your Abbey Road Studio. I probably
could have show them: how to do real music.

GM: Come on, Frank. We sold 10 times more than your music
ever did. Be real.

FZ: It’s all fun, George, all just fun…
